Magic CEO predicts 'at least 1' championship by 2030
The Orlando Magic have been mired in mediocrity ever since the Dwight Howard era, but the team remains focused on winning a title.
Without an All-Star on the roster, the Magic would be hard-pressed to take home a championship anytime soon. But that didn't stop Magic CEO Alex Martins from forecasting a title for his beleaguered franchise.
"I certainly believe by 2030 we will have won at least one championship," Martins said, according to Brian Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel.
"And I say 'at least.' I firmly believe we're going to get there and once you get there, you got the kind of team that hopefully can come back. I believe we will have won a championship."
At 10-15, the offensively inept Magic are on course to miss the playoffs for a fourth-straight year, despite several expensive offseason additions. Perhaps that's why Martins cited such a long window for his team to contend, because as of right now, the Magic look to be going nowhere.
