Cousins given 'substantial fine' by Kings for Sacramento Bee confrontation
The Sacramento Kings are hitting DeMarcus Cousins' bank account hard following his recent interactions with The Sacramento Bee's Andy Furillo on Monday.
The 26-year-old All-Star has been hit with a "substantial fine" for his recent run-in with the reporter, the Kings announced Tuesday.
"The Kings have a clear set of standards of conduct expected of our entire organization. As a result of negative interactions with certain members of the media that were not corrected after verbal warnings, we have decided to impose a substantial fine. If this behavior is repeated again, we will be forced to consider further discipline," said the team in an official statement, according to The Undefeated's Marc J. Spears.
The exact amount of the fine is believed to be $50,000, sources told Kings writer Jason Jones.

Cousins cussed out Furillo in the team's locker room in defense of his younger brother after his name and a prior offense of his was dropped in a piece concerning Boogie's alleged assault at a New York City nightclub from earlier in the month.
"We're going to have some real f---ing issues," he told Furillo. "Don't ever mention my brother again. You don't know my f---ing brother. F---ing coward. You say whatever the f--- you wanna say about me, but don't mention my motherf---ing family."
