Thomas drops 52 on Heat, breaks Celtics record for points in a quarter
Isaiah Thomas has officially added his name to Boston Celtics lore.
The undersized guard scored a franchise-record 29 fourth-quarter points as part of a career-high 52-point performance against the Miami Heat on Friday, breaking the previous Celtics record for points in a quarter of 24, held by Larry Bird and Todd Day.
Thomas also matched Antoine Walker's team record of nine made 3-pointers.

Thomas, who had set a career high of 44 points earlier this month, is only the fifth Celtic ever to amass 50 points, and the first since Paul Pierce in February of 2006. Thomas' 52 points are also the most by a Celtic since Bird scored 60 against the Atlanta Hawks on March 12, 1985.
Thomas failed to record an assist in Boston's 117-114 victory over Miami, but was incredibly efficient in his attack, shooting 15-of-26 from the field, 9-of-13 from deep, and a perfect 13-of-13 from the free-throw line.
