Embiid turns Twitter troll's old comment into NBA All-Star vote
Can we go ahead and crown Philadelphia 76ers rookie Joel Embiid the king of social media already, because everything he does on both Twitter and Instagram as of late is turning to gold.
Even when the occasional troll tries to bring him down, the 22-year-old finds a way to turn it around and make himself look even better than he already does.
Case in point Sunday night, when Embiid found a tweet from two years ago calling him one of the coolest people to follow on the platform, while also referring to him as a "bust" in the process, even though he had literally just been drafted by Philadelphia a month earlier.
To continue his campaign to be named an NBA All-Star, Embiid took said tweet, added his name and the appropriate hashtag, and turned it into yet another vote for himself.
Just when you think he can't possibly top what he did when he pretended President-elect Donald Trump voted for him, Embiid comes out and pulls it off.
He's well on his way to getting his secret crush to go on a date with him, at least when it comes to the fan voting. Embiid will still need to convince his fellow players and coaches that he's worthy of a spot.
