How Westbrook missed out on being voted an All-Star starter
Despite averaging a triple-double through the first half of the season, Russell Westbrook was not named as a starter in next month's All-Star Game.
Although Westbrook finished with the same weighted score as starters Steph Curry and James Harden, his fan vote total was lower than both, causing him to narrowly miss out on starting.

Under the new system, fans account for just 50 percent of the votes, but are also treated as the tie-breaker. DeMar DeRozan edged out Isaiah Thomas in the East under the same rule.
While he may not be starting, all hope is not lost for Westbrook, as there's a very high chance that he will be voted as a reserve by coaches.
The 28-year-old guard is in the midst of his best statistical season as a pro, averaging 30.6 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 10.4 assists, and 1.5 steals.
