Melo reiterates that he'd consider waiving no-trade if Knicks rebuild
As the weeks move on, Carmelo Anthony is giving more and more thought to waiving his no-trade clause prior to this year's deadline.
While the Knicks have yet to approach him about a potential deal, Anthony once again said that he'd consider a trade if New York chooses to rebuild its roster.
"I mean, if they want to go in a different direction, that's something I have to consider," Anthony told ESPN's Tim MacMahon. "I would have to consider that. Like I said, all the talk that's going on right now, that's out of my control. Nobody called me. Nobody got in contact with any of my representation or anything like that, so it's something that I don't worry about. I'm not thinking about that right now."
The 11-time All-Star echoed a similar sentiment late last week, saying that while he'd prefer to win in New York, he'd consider a move if the Knicks came to him with a deal.
While Anthony isn't sure whether management is trying to push him out of the Big Apple, he did admit that it's out of his control if they are.
"I don't know. I don't know. I honestly don't know," Anthony said. "That's something that's out of my control at this point."
The Knicks reportedly attempted to trade Anthony to the Cavaliers in exchange for Kevin Love, but Cleveland ultimately rejected their pitch.
