MRI on Love's back reveals no structural damage
Good news, Cleveland Cavaliers fans: Kevin Love's back injury doesn't appear to be serious.
The team announced Monday that the MRI on Love's back revealed no structural damage. The All-Star big man left during the first half of Sunday's win over the Oklahoma City Thunder after experiencing lower back spasms.
The 28-year-old stayed in Cleveland for the tests, so he isn't with the Cavs for Monday's tilt in Dallas. As a precautionary measure, Love - who has dealt with back problems before - has also been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
With no timetable for his return, Love will continue receiving treatment for the time being.
He's been having his best year since being traded to Cleveland, averaging 19.9 points, 11 boards, and 1.9 assists for the defending champs. Channing Frye figures to fill in during the starter's absence.
