Watch: MSG fans chant 'Free Oakley' at Rangers game
Fans at Madison Square Garden are rallying behind Charles Oakley, even when the Knicks aren't in the building.
Chants of "Free Oakley" and "Charles Oakley" broke out Thursday night during the New York Rangers' win over the Nashville Predators.
Oakley was ejected from the arena and arrested Wednesday night in a bizarre scene during the Knicks' game against the Los Angeles Clippers after getting into an altercation with the security staff that reportedly began when the former power forward directed comments toward MSG chairman James Dolan.
Chris Paul and Reggie Miller have since voiced their support for Oakley, while the Knicks claimed everything Oakley said in his defense was "pure fiction."
The beloved former Knick was guilty in the eyes of the law, but he's certainly a winner in the court of public opinion.
