Report: Okafor not traveling with 76ers
Philadelphia 76ers center Jahlil Okafor was not on the team's flight to Charlotte for Monday night's game against the Hornets, sources told Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The Sixers have been in trade talks with multiple teams regarding Okafor, including the New Orleans Pelicans, Chicago Bulls, and Denver Nuggets. They were reportedly in serious talks with the Pelicans early this week regarding a trade that would've brought back a 2018 first-round pick and center Alexis Ajinca.
With a deal seemingly in the works, Okafor was held out of Saturday's home game against the Miami Heat, and is now being left behind as the Sixers head out on the road. Following Monday's game in Charlotte, the team will travel to Miami for a rematch with the Heat on Wednesday, their last game before the All-Star break.
The 21-year-old sophomore has been on the trade block virtually all season, as it's become clear that he's a poor frontcourt fit with both Joel Embiid and Nerlens Noel. He's averaging 11.6 points and 4.8 rebounds in 23.2 minutes per game.
