Ross thanks Raptors fans after reported trade to Magic
Terrence Ross won't forget the memories forged in Toronto.
Ross, who has spent the entirety of his professional career with the Raptors, was reportedly traded to the Orlando Magic on Tuesday, along with a 2017 first-round draft pick, in exchange for Serge Ibaka.
The 26-year-old was selected eighth overall by the Raptors in the 2012 draft out of Washington. He won the Slam Dunk contest the next season, and notched a career-high 51 points during a January 2014 game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
"It's mixed feelings, of course," Ross said of the trade, according to Sports Illustrated's Ben Golliver. "I've grown to love the city of Toronto and I'm thankful for the opportunity I've had to play there. Going to the playoffs three years in a row was an invaluable experience. Now I hope to bring some of that experience to Orlando.
"I just want to come to the Magic and contribute on both ends of the floor. They have talent and I just want to bring my experience to help out as much as I can. I think me being a shooter will help them out a lot and I'm looking forward to my new role."
Ross has averaged 10.4 points and 2.6 rebounds per game this season, shooting 37.5 percent from 3-point range.
