Report: Oakley joins BIG3 as player-coach
Oak may be making a comeback to the court.
Charles Oakley is set to join co-captains Chauncey Billups and Stephen Jackson on their BIG3 squad as a player-coach, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.
The eight-team 3-on-3 league, which is backed by rapper Ice Cube, announced Friday that the New York Knicks legend will be a participant.

Oakley has been in the news recently after he was forcibly removed from a Knicks game, arrested, and banned from the Garden. The NBA intervened to try to mediate a reconciliation between the 53-year-old and team owner James Dolan, which resulted in the ban being rescinded. However, Oakley has since expressed displeasure about how the situation was handled and said: "This is far from over."
It seems that while he continues to work through that mess, Oak will also be hooping and coaching "where the legends play." The former All-Star averaged 9.7 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists over 19 seasons in the pros.
Other former players who are set to suit up in the BIG3 include Allen Iverson, Jermaine O'Neal, and Kenyon Martin. Each team will feature five players, including a pair of co-captains who've mostly been picked out already. The rosters will be rounded out in April's draft.
