Blazers' Davis to undergo shoulder surgery, expected to miss rest of season
It looks like that's all she wrote for Ed Davis this season.
The Portland Trail Blazers big man is scheduled to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder to repair an injured labrum next Tuesday, the team announced Wednesday.
As a result, he's expected to miss the remainder of the 2016-17 campaign, with a specific timeline being given following the procedure.
The 27-year-old's shoulder has been problematic since 2015-16, with the pain in the area worsening over time.
Davis signed a three-year, $20-million contract with the organization during the 2015 offseason, and is set to make $6.3 million in his final year in 2017-18.
In 46 appearances this season for the 24-35 Blazers, he has averaged 4.3 points and 5.3 rebounds on 52.8 percent shooting.
