'You got Andre'd': Kerr addresses Iguodala's comments
Andre Iguodala incited fury on social media with his racially insensitive comments following the Golden State Warriors' loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night.
During his postgame rant, the veteran swingman seemed to refer to coach Steve Kerr as "master." Although Iguodala clarified he wasn't talking about his bench boss, and that it was an inside joke from the Dubs' locker room, Kerr was asked about it the following day.
"You guys got Andre'd. You got Andre'd," he told reporters including ESPN's Chris Haynes before Saturday night's tilt against the San Antonio Spurs.
"Andre is one of those guys who likes to stir the pot, and has a lot of cryptic messaging at times, jokes around. I didn't take anything from it. It's just Andre being Andre.
"Andre is extremely intelligent. He sees a lot of hypocrisy in the world, and he expresses his displeasure in strange ways at times. He said what he said. I don't think it meant a whole lot."
Kerr maintained there are no hard feelings, but the player could've been more sensitive in his verbiage.
"I wasn't offended by anything he said personally, but he chose some words that were questionable and he's got to respond to them," the 51-year-old said.
Iggy is one of four Warriors sitting out to rest during the nationally televised game at AT&T Center.
