NBA expanding L2M reports for playoffs

Throughout the 2016-17 NBA campaign, the league has issued last-two-minute reports for all calls and non-calls in the final two minutes of fourth quarter or overtime periods, provided the game was within five points at the two-minute mark.

With the playoffs fast approaching, the NBA is expanding its criteria for said reports in order to "bring additional transparency" to the officiating program, the league announced Friday.

Reports will be sent out during the postseason for all games within three points at any stage of the last two minutes of a fourth quarter or overtime. For example, if a team had a 10-point lead with two minutes to go, but the gap was eventually closed to three at some point during that last stretch, a report would be issued.

For games through April 5, NBA officials' overall accuracy on foul calls is listed at 98 percent, with that number dropping to 91.3 percent during periods mentioned in the reports.

It was back in January when Kiki Vandeweghe, the NBA's vice president of basketball operations, hinted that full-game reports would "probably" be coming in the future.

This is the second full season that reports have been issued.
