Durant reads Curry's line vs. Jazz: 'I guess I don't make him worse after all'
Contrary to popular belief, reigning MVP Stephen Curry can indeed thrive on the court alongside Golden State Warriors teammate Kevin Durant.
The Chef couldn't be stopped during Durant's 19-game absence due to injury, averaging 26.9 points, 7.8 assists, and 4.8 rebounds on 47.3 percent shooting. Now that Durant is back in the lineup, though, some analysts assumed Curry's numbers would dip.
Through the first two games, that hasn't been the case.
"Well, he was 9-of-16, with six threes, and 28 points. I guess I don't make him worse after all," Durant said following the Warriors' 105-99 loss to the Utah Jazz on Monday night, which ended a 14-game winning streak. "He came out tonight and shot the ball extremely well, and got us going on the offense end.
"Looks like we can play together."
It was the first time the two had taken the floor side by side since Feb. 28, when Durant went down against the Washington Wizards with a Grade 2 left MCL sprain and tibial bone bruise.
