Porzingis won't disclose why he skipped Knicks' exit interview
Kristaps Porzingis is keeping fans in the dark following his shocking absence from last week's season-ending meeting with the New York Knicks.
The 7-foot-3 Latvian refused to address the issue amid reports he skipped the exit interview due to his frustration with the direction of the franchise, but assured fans he plans to stay with the team.
"Of course, I love New York. I love New York," Porzingis told Marc Berman of The New York Post.
"It's not the right moment to comment on anything (about it)," he added. "I don't want to say anything.''
Porzingis hasn't been shy about expressing his opinion with the Knicks this season, telling reporters in February that his teammates didn't trust each other enough.
Reports surfaced last week indicating Porzingis plans to make an extended trip back to Latvia this summer after passing on his exit meeting, and may not return to The Big Apple until closer to training camp.
The 21-year-old averaged 18.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, two blocks, 1.5 assists, and 0.7 steals on 45 percent shooting in 2016-17.
