At the end of the first quarter in Friday's Game 3, Utah Jazz All-Star Gordon Hayward had already put 21 points up on the board.
As a team, the Los Angeles Clippers had just 21 points during that span.
Hayward was on the floor for the entire 12 minutes, going 7-of-8 from the field, a perfect 3-of-3 from behind the arc, and 4-of-5 from the charity stripe as the Jazz carried a 13-point lead into the second period.

The 21 was a franchise record for points in a quarter during a playoff game, breaking the previous mark of 20 set by "The Mailman" Karl Malone against the Portland Trail Blazers in 1991.
It was more points than he scored in either of the first two games at Staples Center to begin the best-of-seven series. Hayward dropped 19 on 7-of-18 shooting in Utah's Game 1 victory, and then followed that up with 20 in an eight-point loss three nights later in Game 2.
