Draymond wants Booker out of Phoenix: 'It's not good for his career'
Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green doesn't think being with the Phoenix Suns is best for Devin Booker's career.
"It's great to see Book playing well and Phoenix playing well, but get my man out of Phoenix," Green said during a segment of TNT's "NBA Tip-Off" on Friday when discussing the Phoenix Suns' 4-0 start inside the bubble. "It's not good for him, it's not good for his career. ... I need my man to go somewhere where he can play great basketball all the time, and win."
When asked if he's tampering and trying to lure Booker to Golden State, Green said "maybe."
Booker was a first-round pick in 2015, and the Suns haven't made the playoffs or finished with a record above .500 since then. During that same span, Green's Warriors have been the NBA's most successful organization, winning two titles over the past four seasons.
Phoenix inked Booker to a five-year, $158-million maximum contract extension in 2018. The 23-year-old made his first All-Star appearance this campaign, and he figures to be a key piece of the Suns' core alongside 2018 first overall pick Deandre Ayton going forward.
Green has a history of recruiting star players, most notably Kevin Durant following the 2015-16 season.
