Report: Clippers PF Glen Davis plans to opt out, become a free-agent this off-season
According to a report from Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe, Clippers power forward Glen "Big Baby" Davis will decline his player option and test the free-agency waters this off-season.
The decision is hardly surprising, as Davis was signed by the Clippers at the veteran minimum after the Magic bought out the remainder of his then two-year, $13-million contract shortly after the trade deadline. Davis, 28, who is averaging 10.2 points and 6.7 rebounds per game on the season, will likely command a contract with longer term, and more money than the veteran minimum in free-agency.
However, it is worth mentioning that Big Baby clashed with head coach Doc Rivers last week. The verbal altercation ended in Davis being escorted off the court by security personnel, and his outburst earned him a benching for the second half.
