Jordan Farmar on free agency: 'I want to be a Laker'
Mike D'Antoni resigned as head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday, but that hasn't changed Jordan Farmar's stance on wanting to return to the franchise.
Speaking to Inside the Lakers, Farmar, who is a free agent this summer, made it clear Los Angeles is the only city where he wants to play next season.
"I want to be a Laker," Farmar said. "I like playing for Mike. Whether it's Phil Jackson, Mike D'Antoni or whoever else coaches this team, that won't deter me from wanting to be a Laker."
His passion is commendable considering the Lakers are looking towards another tough season in 2014-15, and there are no guarantees he'll even be the starting point guard with Kendall Marshall challenging for the spot. But Farmar's desire to continue with the Lakers is largely influenced by wanting to settle in his hometown with his family.
A number of injuries limited Farmar to only 41 games last season, during which time he averaged 10.1 points, 4.9 assists, and 2.5 rebounds, while posting a Player Efficiency Rating of 15.0.
