Anonymous GM on Andrew Wiggins: 'He can be your third-best player, but not your best'
If you're a fan of the Milwaukee Bucks, you've got to be hoping that the following statement came from Cleveland Cavaliers general manager David Griffin.
Of course, not much should be made of this. It could just be one GM's way of reducing Andrew Wiggins' stock with the hope he'll slip a spot or two in the draft and can then be selected by the unnamed GM himself. And it's even likelier that the comment came from a GM whose team holds no chance of landing Wiggins.
But on the off chance that it's an honest assessment coming from a GM whose franchise holds a top pick in the draft, it provides a stark contrast to Joel Embiid, who is reportedly dazzling all those who watch him at team workouts.
Reports have varied regarding who the Cavaliers will take with their first overall selection in the draft. Wiggins is the bookmakers' favorite to head to Cleveland, but Jabari Parker and Embiid have also been mentioned as potential picks. Regardless of the order, the trio are expected by many to be the first three selections on June 26.
