Devin Harris seeking a three-year deal, would like to remain with Mavericks
Mavericks guard Devin Harris rather enjoyed spending last season in Dallas, and would like to remain for a while longer.
In speaking with Eddie Sefko of The Dallas Morning News, the 31-year-old spoke about his impending status as an unrestricted free-agent.
He was asked about his thoughts on staying with the Mavericks, to which he answered, "pretty good. This is where I want to be, so, we'll see. As long as things make sense."
Harris also touched on the terms of his next contract, citing that he's looking for a deal lasting around three years.
Last season, in serving as Jose Calderon's back-up at point guard, the defensively-minded Harris averaged 7.9 points and 4.5 assists per game. He battled injuries throughout his career, and is understandably looking for job security.
The Mavericks have plenty of cap room to re-sign Harris, therefore the only questions come down to interest and price. Harris has also drawn interest from the Chicago Bulls. He profiles as a dependable back-up point guard.
