The $500,000, winner-take-all basketball tournament cleverly coined The Basketball Tournament wrapped up on Saturday night, and it was the Notre Dame Fighting Alumnia taking home the prize money and immense bragging rights.

Led by 2011 graduate and Rouen power forward Tyrone Nash, the team of former Notre Dame players toppled Team Barstool, 72-68. Nash poured in 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting to lead his side, while NBA veteran Dahntay Jones posted a game-high 21 for the losing squad.

The runners up were without former NBA talents Quincy Douby and Shavlik Randolph, who were unable to make the championship game. Those players missed the entire tournament despite being on the roster, leaving Barstool painfully thin.

The Irish alums were a far more balanced attack, with six players averaging between nine and 14.4 points for the tournament, and the shooting of Ryan Ayers - he went 14-of-22 from long range over five games - proved paramount.

You can read more about the tourney in this fun piece from Luke Bonner, who participated and was eliminated in the semi-finals.
