One more time for old time's sake.
The Cleveland Cavaliers made it official on Saturday, announcing that the team has signed forward LeBron James. As per their press release, Cavaliers GM David Griffin commented on the deal:
We could not be happier to welcome LeBron James home. Yesterday, LeBron, through his essay, told us he wasn't going anywhere except Cleveland and that 'Cleveland is where he always believed he would finish his career.'
Expectations will be at the highest levels but no one should expect immediate and automatic success
Signing a four-time MVP in his prime undoubtedly counts as the biggest prize to be had in this year's offseason. The two-time champion already owns the Cavaliers' team record in total points, and his intentions to carry out the remainder of his illustrious career in Cleveland should allow him to snag just about every other award and distinction in franchise history.
As per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it's believed James signed a two-year deal worth $42.1 million.
