Cavaliers coach: Andrew Wiggins is 'not going anywhere'
You can put those 'Andrew Wiggins for Kevin Love' trade ideas to rest for the time being, according to Cleveland Cavaliers coach David Blatt.
"There's no reason or cause for worry on his part because Andrew's not going anywhere, as far as I know and as far as the club has expressed," Blatt told reporters Saturday.
Love - as any NBA player would be - is reportedly intrigued by the idea of coming to Cleveland to play with LeBron James, but prying the All-Star from his current team, the Minnesota Timberwolves, will prove to be difficult.
The Cavaliers offered Dion Waiters, Anthony Bennett, and a first-round pick for Love, according to ESPN, but the Wolves remained adamant that Wiggins be a part of the package. That means the Cavs will need to either alter the deal or find a third team to help grease the wheels.
Blatt confirmed to Wiggins that the plan going is to pair him with James.
"I would think for a guy like Andrew, to have the opportunity to play with arguably one of the best players of all time, and to learn from him and to be tutored by him and to play alongside him -- which he will -- I gotta think that's a tremendous boost to his confidence and his comfort level and probably his motivation."
