Best of NBA Rookie photo day: Pictures, dunks, and Reddit AMA

Ahead of the NBA's annual rookie symposium, the incoming freshmen for the 2014-15 season met up Sunday for the league's annual rookie photo shoot.

Along with some goofy photos and group snaps, players took to the outdoors for some really cool promotional pics. Here are some of our favorites:

And here's the group photo, if you're interested. Don't zoom in on Toronto Raptors draft pick Bruno Caboclo, though, as his stoic stare is said to turn people to stone if looked at for too long.

The day also saw a lot of rookies throwing down their most creative dunks, often in teams. Here are some of the best in the non-Mitch McGary category (and okay, they're not all dunks):

In a new wrinkle on the day, and speaking to the league's continued desire to have a strong online presence, rookies took part in an Ask Me Anything on Reddit. Here are a handful of terrific responses to fan questions:

"What would you guess your 2K rating to be?"
Julius Randle: "99"
Spencer Dinwiddie (he of the porn-stache): "Probably somewhere in the 50's but I want it to be 69."

"Who do you think will win Rookie of the Year?"
Julius Randle: "Shaking my head...Who do you think it will be. You think I'm going to say anyone but myself."
Spencer Dinwiddie: "Spencer will win Rookie of the Year."

"Zach LaVine are you thinking about the Dunk Contest?"
Zach LaVine: "Yes!!! That's 3 exclamation points"

"Bruno- Did you meet Drake yet?"
Bruno Caboclo: "Yes. It was really quick."

"What do you think you might have to give up now that you're entering the professional world of basketball?"
James Young: "Eating cheeseburgers daily"

"Spencer Dinwiddie- who has the better stache? You or Stan Van Gundy?"
Spencer Dinwiddie: "See, it's not even close. His argument is that his has been around for a long time. But looks wise, it's all me."

"Joel Embiid: What's going on with you and Rihanna, big guy?"
Joel Embiid: "We went on a date and had fun."

"Joel Embiid -- What's it like being the best tweeter in the history of Twitter?"
Joel Embiid: "I mean it's great. No big deal. Throwing around those hashtags"

"Joel Embiid: if you had three wishes but none of them can have to do with basketball, what would they be?"
Joel Embiid: "First, be the best soccer player ever. Second, get a James Harden beard. Third, For you to be happy."

That seems like a pretty good place to wrap things up. This is going to be an incredibly fun rookie class.
