Hornets rookie Vonleh out 6-8 weeks after undergoing surgery on sports hernia

Charlotte Hornets rookie Noah Vonleh is expected to miss the next 6-8 weeks after undergoing successful surgery, the team announced Tuesday.
The surgery was to repair a sports hernia which Vonleh reportedly suffered in a recent workout. The 6-foot-10 forward was taken ninth overall by the Hornets after averaging 11.3 points and nine rebounds as a freshman with Indiana.
The timeline for his recovery puts his expected return right around the Hornets' season opener on October 29, although, considering he'll likely have missed all of training camp, he may need more time to get his timing and rhythm back.
