Popovich unhappy with Spurs' play during preseason

Surprise, surprise. San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich isn't happy.

“We look very poor,” Popovich told the San Antonio Express-News following the Spurs' 96-87 loss to Houston on Friday. “We look like we're not very interested.”

The Spurs are dealing with injuries, and aging veterans like Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili can't be expected to give their all during preseason games, but the defending champions own a paltry 2-5 record.

For his part, Duncan isn't too worried.

“We haven't played well, but it's preseason,” Duncan said. “We'll hopefully chalk it up to that. We'll show up for the first game and we'll figure it out, and we'll have 81 after that.”

The Spurs will open the 2014-15 regular season on Oct. 28 against the Dallas Mavericks.
