Spurs' Parker upgraded to questionable Monday vs. Clippers

Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports

After originally being ruled out for Monday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers, Tony Parker's status has been upgraded to questionable, the San Antonio Spurs announced.

Parker has missed the last five games with a strained left hamstring and has missed nine of the Spurs' last 12 games overall. Through 19 games, Parker is averaging 16.0 points, 5.3 assists and 1.7 rebounds for the 17-11 Spurs.

In addition to Parker and Kawhi Leonard's absences, the Spurs rested Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili against the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday after losing back-to-back triple-overtime games earlier in the week.

Unfortunately, the team may not be able to afford resting their stars as much as usual this season - they currently sit seventh in the Western Conference. The Spurs are 6.5 games behind first-place Golden State in the West and 4.5 games behind the Southwest Division-leading Memphis Grizzlies, while only sitting 2.5 games ahead of ninth-place Phoenix.
