Report: Anthony reluctant to sit with sore knee, but Knicks encouraging it
Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports
With news on Monday that the New York Knicks have dealt away Iman Shumpert and J.R. Smith, another report indicates the Knicks are prepared to give up on this season completely.
The team is encouraging star Carmelo Anthony to sit, but Anthony has been resisting the idea, Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reported Monday night.
Anthony is not playing Monday in Memphis, and he's unlikely to play Wednesday in Washington either. He hasn't played since New Year's Eve against the Los Angeles Clippers, and the watch is on in New York for if - or when - he'll be shut down for the season to potentially undergo knee surgery.
