LeBron moves into 2nd on all-time All-Star Game scoring list
You better look over your shoulder and get healthy for the 2015-16 All-Star Game, Kobe Bryant. The King is on your tail.
LeBron James jumped two legends on Sunday, moving within striking distance of Bryant for the top spot on the all-time All-Star Game scoring list.
In his 11th career appearance - three shy of Bryant - James scored 30 points to give him 278 total. In doing so, James passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Michael Jordan, moving him into second on the list, despite playing in fewer events than either of them. Not surprisingly, James also sits second to only Kevin Durant in All-Star scoring average, putting up 25.3 points per All-Star Game.
The all-time leaderboard for All-Star Game scoring now looks as follows:
- Kobe Bryant, 280 points (14 appearances)
- LeBron James, 278 points (11 appearances)
- Michael Jordan, 262 points (13 appearances)
- Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, 251 points (18 appearances)
- Oscar Robertson, 246 points (12 appearances)
James scored 15 in the game's opening quarter, adding seven more in the second, then had a quiet eight-point second half, finishing the game 11-of-21 from the floor.
With five rebounds and seven assists, James continued his overall assault on the All-Star record book.
- Points: 2nd, 278
- Assists: 9th, 68
- Minutes: 7th, 343
- 3-pointers: 1st, 27
- Steals:10th, 17
- Points per game: 2nd, 25.3
Considering James is still only 30 years old, the All-Star record book is probably going to be his own personal journal when he's done.
