It may be public posturing for leverage in trade talks with the Brooklyn Nets or it may be due diligence as the trade deadline draws closer. Whatever the case, the Oklahoma City Thunder are the league's most active team as the clock ticks toward Thursday's 3 p.m. trade buzzer.
Not only are the Thunder deep into talks to move Reggie Jackson to the Nets in a package for Brook Lopez, but they're engaging with a handful of other teams, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.
The Thunder have spoken with the Indiana Pacers but found no traction on a potential deal. Wojnarowski did not report on the players involved in the discussions, but the belief is that they involved Jackson, who has requested a trade.
The Detroit Pistons are in pursuit of Jackson, as well, and the Thunder have reportedly kicked the tires on Enes Kanter of the Utah Jazz, who is in almost the exact same situation as Jackson as a pending restricted free agent who wants out.
Even with all of these balls in the air, it's still expected that the Thunder and Nets ultimately make a trade. The Thunder are said to be incredibly active in the closing minutes, and it's entirely possible any deal they make will come in after the official deadline, like their acquisition of Kendrick Perkins did in 2011.
