Report: Bucks' Ennis will miss summer league
Following labral repair surgery to his right shoulder on Tuesday, Milwaukee Bucks point guard Tyler Ennis will miss summer league, according to FOX Sports' Andrew Gruman.
Ennis underwent the procedure after consultation with the team orthopedist.
The 20-year-old split his rookie year between the Bucks and the Phoenix Suns, playing sparingly. While he saw more minutes in Milwaukee, playing behind fellow Syracuse product Michael Carter-Williams as a rookie wasn't going to provide much opportunity for game action, which is why a summer league absence could hurt.
Ennis was also planning to play for his native Canada in the FIBA Americas tournament, but no recovery timetable from the shoulder operation has been provided - although that Olympic qualifier doesn't go until late August.
Over 33 games between the Suns and Bucks, Ennis averaged 3.7 points and 2.2 assists in 12.5 minutes, shooting 36.1 percent from the floor. He also spent a nine-game stint in the D-League, averaging 18.4 points and 5.3 assists while shooting 47.9 percent.
