Report: Andre Miller meeting with teams, wants to return next season
Professor Andre Miller is looking to teach a few more classes before he forfeits his NBA tenure.
The famously methodical, post-happy, large-rumped, savvy, 39-year-old point guard plans to return for the 2015-16 season, and is in the process of taking free-agency meetings with interested teams, according to Jared Zwerling of Bleacher Report.
Miller split last season between the Washington Wizards and Sacramento Kings, averaging 4.4 points and 3.5 assists in 15.5 minutes per game, while shooting 50 percent from the field and posting a respectable 13.3 PER.
He may be slow and unathletic to the point of being an NBA anomaly, but Miller's smarts alone should be enough to help him find a home as a backup point guard for his age-40 season.
Miller leads all active players (and ranks ninth all-time) in career assists and is fourth among active players (24th all-time) in regular-season games played. Over his 16-year career with seven different teams, he's averaged 12.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 6.7 assists.
