A strong performance at the Orlando Summer League has shown the Brooklyn Nets all they needed.

The Nets have agreed to a one-year deal with Willie Reed, according to a report from Shams Charania of RealGM. The deal is mostly guaranteed, for up to $500,000 of the $525,093 rookie minimum, essentially giving the Nets a 14th guaranteed contract on the books.

Brooklyn needed to solidify their frontcourt and Reed should help to that end. The 25-year-old is the size of a power forward but can man center, too, and he's proven effective in the D-League, especially on the glass. It's somewhat surprising Reed hasn't made his NBA debut yet, considering he's played 145 D-League games over the last three seasons, averaging 15.3 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks while shooting 58.5 percent.

Since going undrafted out of Saint Louis in 2011, Reed has gotten offseason looks from the Memphis Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacers, Miami Heat, and the Nets while also making a quick stop in the Dominican. This past season, he was named to the All-NBA D-League First Team and NBA D-League All-Defensive First Team.

Reed had been playing with the Heat in Orlando and averaged 13.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks in four games.
