Another center has decided to pass on a contract offer with the Dallas Mavericks.
Unrestricted free agent Joel Freeland, who spent the first three seasons of his career with the Portland Trail Blazers, has turned down a three-year, $6-million offer to join the Mavericks, reports RealGM's Shams Charania.
Instead, the 28-year-old British big will be taking his talents overseas to suit up for CSKA Moscow on a "lucrative" two-year contract.
Freeland had been weighing his options, including several other offers from different teams for the veteran's minimum, but ultimately decided to leave the NBA and try his luck in Russia.
In 151 career games, Freeland has averaged 3.5 points and 4 rebounds on 49 percent shooting from the field.
