The Cleveland Cavaliers' "Big Three" was reduced to the "Big One" for the majority of the 2015 NBA Finals.
Cavs general manager David Griffin may have put his team's fanbase at ease, as reported by Bleacher Report's Ethan J. Skolnick on Saturday.
To clarify, the aforementioned "Big Three" consists of LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love. Anderson Varejao would be the fourth Musketeer in this scenario.
James was left to carry his team through a thrilling yet grueling six-game series against the Golden State Warriors, after Irving suffered a season-ending knee injury in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
Love was also lost to injury - a dislocated shoulder - during the close-out game in the Cavs' first round series versus the Boston Celtics.
Varejao missed much more of the season than his ailing teammates, having torn his Achilles tendon in December.
Most teams would not have been able to survive the loss of such key cogs, however, James proved once again he is capable of dragging his team across the finish line (or close to it).
Thus, Griffin's update may serve as somewhat of a relief to those invested in Ohio's pro ball club.
Although Griffin has done an admirable job of tending to some of the Cavs' roster needs, more moves appear to be necessary in order to field a highly competitive squad next season.
In the short term, however, a clean bill of health for all returning players would be a good place to start.
