The Charlotte Hornets have officially signed unrestricted free agent Tyler Hansbrough, the team announced Wednesday.
The terms of his deal are not yet known.
The 29-year-old power forward played college basketball for four years in the area with the North Carolina Tar Heels, winning National College Player of the Year in 2008 and a national championship in 2009.
"North Carolina has always been a home to me, and I'm excited to come back here and play," Hansbrough said at the news conference.
"Psycho T" spent last season playing for the Toronto Raptors, averaging 3.6 points and 3.6 rebounds in 14.3 minutes per game during his second year with the franchise.
He's currently slotted in as the fifth big on the depth chart, with Al Jefferson, Cody Zeller, Spencer Hawes (acquired from the Los Angeles Clippers in a trade for Lance Stephenson), and No. 9 overall pick Frank Kaminsky all in the mix.
