Caron Butler to release 'Tuff Juice' autobiography
Sacramento Kings swingman Caron Butler beat all the odds in his improbable journey from being a teenage drug dealer to becoming an NBA champion.
Butler will chronicle his life in an autobiography entitled "Tuff Juice: My Journey from the Streets to the NBA." The book will be released Oct. 7 and will be available in hardcover on Amazon.
From the book description:
Before Butler had a chance to prove himself on the court, he spent his time trying to prove himself on the streets, as a gang member and drug dealer in his hometown of Racine, Wis. He saw friends gunned down in the bloody street wars near his home, was arrested nearly 15 times and wound up behind bars and in solitary confinement before his 15th birthday.
Butler opened up about his childhood in Racine and his battles with the law in an interview series with Vice Sports.
Incredibly, Butler managed to escape his rough upbringing and become a 13-year veteran of the NBA. Butler was selected 10th overall in 2002, became a two-time All-Star with the Washington Wizards, and won a championship with the Dallas Mavericks in 2011.
Moreover, Butler managed to build a stable life off the court, as well. He's a dedicated husband and father, a philanthropist, and a businessman.
