Carlisle rips team after loss to Raptors: 'These guys won't be Mavericks very long'

It took the Dallas Mavericks' garbage-time unit to get them back into Tuesday night's game against the Toronto Raptors, but they ultimately came out on the short end of a 103-99 loss.

Coach Rick Carlisle was not happy about how they got to that point.

"If it's gonna be like that," Carlisle said of the first half, after which Dallas trailed 49-36, "these guys won't be Mavericks very long. I can promise you that."

The Mavericks have now lost four of six heading into Wednesday's game against the Brooklyn Nets. One of the league's pleasant surprises early, the Mavs have given up more than 100 points in their last three losses.

Players didn't disagree with Carlisle's reaction.

"We've got to start being who the hell we are and who we want to be," guard Wesley Matthews told reporters. "That's what I take away from coach's message."
