VIDEO: Rondo pump fakes free throw for reasons unclear
Rajon Rondo's recent trend of making questionable decisions continued Friday night.
With the Minnesota Timberwolves up by three in the dying seconds of their matchup with the Sacramento Kings, Andrew Wiggins wisely fouled Rondo, who is shooting a woeful 50 percent from the charity strip this season, sending the mercurial point guard to the line.
What happened next had everyone in Target Center scratching their heads.
What the 10-year veteran was thinking during this instant blooper is anybody's guess.
If Rondo was hoping to lure the Wolves' rebounders into the lane early, his effort would have been for naught, as he wouldn't have been awarded a bonus foul shot. He would've had to shoot the second free throw either way.
And so, with everyone back in their original positions, Rondo attempted his second - and final - shot from the line.
True to form, he missed, squandering an opportunity that would've brought his team to within one point of Minnesota.
The Wolves went on to win the game 99-95 after two made Wiggins free throws.
