Celtics' Bradley sustains hip contusion
The Boston Celtics will have to make do for the remainder of their matchup with the Brooklyn Nets without their best two-way wing.
Shooting guard Avery Bradley sustained a hip contusion and will not return to Saturday's game, the team announced.
Bradley logged 11 minutes before exiting the game midway through the second quarter. He was in noticeable discomfort for several plays before he ultimately decided to head for the locker room.
Now in his sixth season in Beantown, Bradley has entrenched himself as the linchpin of the Celtics' third-ranked defense. He's averaging a career-high 1.6 steals per game and is routinely called upon to pester the opposing team's best ball-handler.
Bradley is also chipping in offensively, with averages of 15.1 points and 1.9 assists in 31.9 minutes per game.
