Report: Blatt drew up plays for players who weren't in the game
Now that Tyronn Lue has stepped over David Blatt as head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers, reports are leaking from every which way as to Blatt's supposed ineptitude.
Blatt, a coaching legend in the international scene, never quite got along with the Cavaliers' star players, and his troubles with managing timeouts nearly cost his team a game in the playoffs.
The troubles apparently extended beyond that. As one unnamed Cavs player relayed to Chris Haynes of Cleveland.com, Blatt would also struggle with drawing up plays.
Haynes relays that Blatt would "freeze up and waste precious seconds," and that Blatt would "even draw up plays for players who weren't in the game."
Despite all his struggles, Blatt did guide the Cavaliers to a Finals appearance in his first NBA season and an Eastern Conference leading 30-11 record through his sophomore campaign, and he was touted as a brilliant basketball mind when he was first hired.
But going off the reports, that all apparently went awry in Cleveland.
