Cavaliers rest LeBron James vs. Wizards
The King needs his rest.
The Cleveland Cavaliers will give LeBron James the day off against the Washington Wizards on Sunday, Chris Hayes of Cleveland.com reports.
The 31-year-old forward doesn't have an injury, Haynes reports, and the Cavaliers are merely giving James his second breather of the season. He sat out against the Miami Heat on Dec. 5, as the Cavaliers were playing a back-to-back following an overtime game.
James played 40 minutes - including the entirety of the second half - in Cleveland's loss to the Toronto Raptors on Friday. On the season, James ranks 14th in total minutes played.
After Friday's loss, James questioned his team's mental toughness. That will be put to the test Sunday, as James's teammates will be forced to adapt without their best player in the lineup.
James is averaging 24.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 6.6 assists in 35.9 minutes per game this season.
