Kentucky No. 1 in AP preseason Top 25 poll

Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports

The Associated Press released its 2014-15 Top 25 preseason college basketball poll Friday, and a familiar school found itself at the top.

Kentucky was ranked as the No.1 team for the second straight year, becoming the fourth program to earn the honor in consecutive seasons.

Led by coach John Calipari, the Wildcats earned 52 first-place votes from the 65-member panel to secure its fourth preseason No. 1.

A first-place vote earned 25 points, while one point was awarded for a 25th-place vote. The rankings were then determined by the totals each school accumulated.
