No. 1 recruit Harry Giles commits to Duke
The No. 1 recruit in the country has found his home for 2016.
Harry Giles, who partially tore his ACL on Tuesday and will miss the high school season, announced on SportsCenter his commitment to Duke.
Giles is a consensus blue chip prospect and many have pegged the five-star recruit as a potential first overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.
The 6-foot-9, 230-pound forward is known for his elite athleticism, but also features an improving jump shot that can stretch to the 3-point line at times. His good handles and explosiveness enable him to create his own shot in isolation sets. Giles is also known as a strong rebounder.
At the next level, Giles will need to add some bulk to his frame, continue to develop his skillset with his back to the basket, and improve his defense.
Some have compared Giles' game to five-time NBA All-Star Chris Webber. Giles is from Winston-Salem, N.C., but attends Oak Hill Academy in Virginia.
Before announcing his decision, Giles had narrowed his recruitment down to Duke, Kansas, Wake Forest, and Kentucky.
