Ohio State's Meyer denies Fickell interviewed for FAU job

Reports surfaced on Tuesday that Florida Atlantic University had interviewed Ohio State defensive coordinator Luke Fickell for the vacant head coaching position.

The story made sense as FAU's athletic director, Pat Chun, has strong ties with the Buckeyes, having worked at Ohio State for 15 years.  However, it turns out the reports were untrue.

This doesn't rule out that Fickell could be interviewed in the future by FAU.  Considering the connections between the Owls and Buckeyes, Fickell can't be counted out for the job, but he may not be a front runner.
