VIDEO: FSU's Winston apologizes for regrettable wisecrack
Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston apologized to his school, coaches and teammates during a press conference Wednesday after being suspended for the first half of Saturday's game against Clemson for making an inappropriate remark on campus, The Tallahassee Democrat reports.
"First of all I just want to apologize to the university, to my coaches and and to my temamates," Winston said. "That's not how you do things around here. I have now made a selfish act for them."
Winston admitted that it will be difficult for him to sit out for half of Saturday's game.
"That's going to eat me up because I want to be out on the field," he said. "I messed up and I have to accept the fact that I did that."
Sean Maguire will lead the offense for the first half against Clemson Saturday.
