Penn State lands 4-star prospect Ellison Jordan
Sorry Terrapins, Ellison Jordan is set to become a Nittany Lion.
The four-star defensive tackle, and Maryland native, committed to Penn State over several other offers, including Maryland and Virginia Tech.
Checking in at 6-foot, 262-pounds, Jordan is ranked 135th on ESPN 300, and the No. 5 prospect in the state.
"It's hard to put my finger on it, but there was just something special about the atmosphere at Penn State that made me feel that it was the place for me," said Jordan, according to the Baltimore Sun's Katherine Dunn.
However, this commitment was not without its sorrow. Jordan had a tough time telling the Maryland and Virginia Tech coaches that he would be heading elsewhere.
"It broke my heart. It really did," explained Jordan. "I like all the schools. They're all great. They all supported me, but somewhere in my heart, I had a gut feeling that Penn State was the right decision for me and my family."
