Curry sits out Game 3 vs. Rockets, hopeful for Game 4
Reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry did not play in Thursday's Game 3 of the Golden State Warriors' best-of-seven series against the Houston Rockets due to a sore right ankle.
"He wanted to play ... It wasn't worth the risk," Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said.
Kerr added Curry will participate in 3-on-3 drills Friday, with the hope being he'll be healthy enough to compete Sunday in Game 4 at the Toyota Center.
"The Chef" took part in Thursday's morning shootaround despite the injury, with his Game 3 status originally listed as questionable.
The Warriors proved in Monday's 115-106 victory they're more than capable of handling the Rockets without the league's top scorer. Klay Thompson led all players with 34 points, with Golden State also receiving huge contributions from Andre Iguodala, Shaun Livingston (who started in Curry's place), and Draymond Green.
